Hunter TAFE Alumni Awards – 2016
The Nationwide Super team were proud to be the major sponsor of the 2016 Hunter TAFE Alumni Awards, presented as part of the Hunter TAFE Awards at Crown Plaza, Terrigal.
We were on hand to present the awards to winners in each of the three categories including Contribution to Business, Contribution to Community and Emerging Talent.
Contribution to Business Award – the 2016 recipient was Dr. Melanie Hayes – currently lecturing as Dental Hygiene Lead at the University of Melbourne, Dr. Hayes is one of the few Dental Hygienists in Australia to hold a PhD, and is also the current President of the Dental Hygienists Association of Australia, and has won countless academic awards.
Contribution to Community Award – the 2016 recipient was Andy Meier – with over 20 years’ experience working in design studios nationally and internationally, and currently as Director of Strategic Minds Communications, Andy’s passion for the not-for-profit sector saw him working in the Creative Director role with Compassion Australia. During his time with Compassion, Andy completed a Diploma of Management and developed best-practice skills he is now implementing through innovative and integrated marketing strategies for his clients in the not-for-profit sector.
Emerging Talent Award – the 2016 recipient was Peter Ives – currently the Site Foreman at North Construction, Peter completed his Building and Construction apprenticeship in 2015, and has represented Hunter TAFE in the WorldSkills Australia regional and national competitions – winning Gold in 2014. Peter received a place in the 2015 BBM Skilled Future leadership program and, received international work experience in the UK.
The Awards were another great success and we once again congratulate the winners for 2016.
